GDIF’s Dancing City 2024

Dancing City

Part of Greenwich and Docklands International Festival

We were delighted to be part of this year’s Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, as we present some amazing dance works as part of Dancing City on Saturday 7 September.

This year’s dance take-over day, showcased a host of amazing outdoor spaces across Stratford, popping up in the Town Centre, Stratford Cross, East Bank and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. With stunning staging and a huge variety of dance styles, there was some exceptional homegrown and international talent on display.

We were especially thrilled to be working in partnership with GDIF to bring local artists to their incredible international festival. This year we were delighted to present performances from Olu Alatise and Brandon Anderson.

Olu presented her company Afroqueens in ‘Imole’ (Yoruba for ‘light’), a dance piece in response to depicting the element of fires, the subtlety, energetic force and power of fire and light.

Brandon shared ‘Disparity’, a hip hop dance theatre piece blending breaking, waving and acro, that explored both our freedom to succeed in the face of personal limitations and environment, and where we escape to when looking for our dreams.
