From Community Fundraising to the National Stage
What a journey it has been for our East London Youth Dance Company (ELYDC).
Just a few weeks ago, we were asking our community to help make a dream possible. After being selected to represent London at the prestigious U.Dance National Festival Finals at Tramway in Glasgow, we needed to raise the funds to get them there.
Thanks to the generosity of our incredible community, we were able to raise over £4,000 to make the journey a reality!

After months of hard work, commitment and rehearsals, ELYDC travelled to Glasgow between 3-5 July to perform alongside and connect with some of the most talented youth dance companies from across the UK at the U.Dance National Festival.
Led by Artistic Director Dominic Hamilton and Assistant Director Tegan Browne-Winter ELYDC rose to the occasion and absolutely smashed their performance. They brought energy, confidence, creativity and passion to the stage, showcasing not only their talent as dancers but also the strength of the collective they have built together over the past year.

Throughout the trip our young people were also immersed in workshops and classes. They had the chance to learn from industry professionals, explore new movement styles, exchange ideas and build connections with other young artists from across the country who share the same passion for dance.
To everyone who donated, shared our fundraising campaign, cheered from afar or supported the company throughout the year we say a heartfelt thank you. Your support helped turn an ambitious goal into a reality!
The trip gave our dancers the chance to represent their city, celebrate their talent, grow in confidence and gain unforgettable experiences that will help shape their futures. The trip was a powerful reminder that hard work, dedication and belief in themselves can open doors to extraordinary opportunities.
