Artist of Tomorrow – An OUR HOUSE Takeover
19 October 2026

Chris Reyes’ Artist of Tomorrow takeover connects creatives from the diaspora through culture, community and representation.
In mid-September, as part of the OUR HOUSE programme, Chris Reyes took over the Talent House with Artist of Tomorrow – a week-long celebration of Black and Filipino creativity and culture.
Bringing together live music, dance, visual arts, film screenings, workshops and creative conversations, the programme was designed to champion Black and Filipino artists and celebrate the richness of diaspora communities.
Highlights included the transformation of the Talent House atrium into an art installation exploring the possibilities of an Afro-Asian future; a cross-arts real time storytelling improvisation collaboration between dancers and musicians led by the audience; and an intimate curated DJ night inspired by the warmth of a Sudanese home.
CARAVAN presents Unfold
Across the week, attendees spoke about leaving with a stronger sense of confidence, community and belonging. Many described feeling seen and represented in ways they hadn’t experienced before, with one participant summing up the experience in three simple words: “My voice matters.”
The community also reflected on the power of being surrounded by people with shared experiences and perspectives and spoke about finding connection through creativity, culture and conversation.
“Our stories are interconnected and there are no borders. Our diasporic peers are family.” Participant

The programme also inspired participants to embrace their identities within their creative work.
“I don’t feel as scared of offending people with weaving my cultural identity into my work.” Participant
“[I left with] a sense of proud identity and ownership” Participant
For many, Artist of Tomorrow was an opportunity to connect with others, explore identity, develop creative confidence and imagine new possibilities for the future.
Panel Discussion
We were delighted to be able to support Chris and his team to create this inclusive environment that was so much more than the sum of its parts. The success and feedback of the week speaks to the importance of culturally relevant, artist-led spaces where people feel welcomed, valued and encouraged to be themselves. This is what OUR HOUSE aims to achieve.
