Announcing The Fi.ELD 2014 – new cohort!
17 December 2013
East London Dance is pleased to introduce the new collective of emerging professionals on the path to becoming the future innovators in dance. Following a rigorous selection process this collective of 12 individuals aged 16 to 25 years will be embarking on a successful professional development programme, The FI.ELD.
East London Dance has selected the Year Two participants for The Fi.ELD, who start their programme with a residential at Pavilion Dance South West in Bournemouth in January 2014.
Artistic Programmer ian Abbott says: ‘Pavilion Dance South West are pleased to be hosting the Fi.ELD’s residential weekend in January 2014. We are passionate about supporting young entrepreneurs and we cannot think of a better way to start the programme by demonstrating the value of partnership and placing the wider dance sector into contex. It will be a great opportunity to learn and an added bonus is that it is by the sea -side.’
Under the leadership of Kate Scanlan (Scanner’s Inc, freelance producer and one of the founders of Breakin’ Convention) and ELD producer Emma Kerr, the collective will learn from some of the industry leaders to develop the skills they need to make their ideas happen. The programme aims to shape future innovators in dance through in depth learning, hand on experience, networking, Fi.ELD trips, master classes and intensives, and tailored as far as possible to the needs, aspirations and circumstances of the individuals in this year. The group will work together to produce events and activities. At the end they will pitch for investment to produce their own events or projects. So watch this space and see what these future innovators have to offer!
