London Youth Partnership Work
24 November 2025

ELYDC at the London Youth Awards
Across October and November we were delighted to work in partnership with London Youth across a number of projects and want to give a huge shout out to them and the brilliant work they do and help us do.
Trusted Allies Training
In late October we had some incredibly valuable trauma informed training provided by London Youth and Trusted Youth Allies exploring the pressures on young people, with the top three takeaways/reminders being:
– A person specific approach with each young person is essential, understanding they are individuals and not just a collective
– We should always listen to understand and not just respond.
– To reiterate to the young people that any conversations we have with them should be private but cannot be secret.
Youth co-design session as part of Youth Work Week
In early November we took our learning into the dance studio as part of National Youth Agency‘s Youth Work Week.
Focusing on Safer Spaces, our Community and Wellbeing Manager Nzinga Mascall planned a group coaching session to design a youth-led dance space, delivered by our dance teachers, asking the young people what a safe space means to them.

Just a few days later our Youth Dance Company – ELYDC – smashed it, performing at the London Youth Awards!
Huge thanks to our inspirational youth company Lead Artist Dominic Hamilton alongside our dedicated company members and the rest of the brilliant youth team, including East London Dance Youth Producer Cheyanne Ettienne Chen and assistant artists Tegan Browne Winter and Dylan Mazey who support the development and growth of ELYDC.
