Celebrating Pride
Strut into the ballroom scene this June at The Talent House for a feelgood, fierce and fabulous time.
This June, East London Dance is celebrating Pride by handing over our building to some incredible queer artists to present an exciting programme of dance and wellbeing events and workshops, over three jam-packed days.
From 13-14 June Noá Gorgeous Gucci and House of Juicy Couture: UK Chapter will take over the Talent House for a mini festival of ballroom brilliance. Kicking off the two-day takeover on Friday 13 June, the House will present three Ballroom based workshops. Whether you want to build your runway style, enhance your hands performance or invigorate your Vogue Femme energy there is a workshop for you.
Saturday 14 June will see 4 Houses compete for the ultimate runway trophy in a mini-Ballroom showcase.
Wrapping up this epic weekend – Saturday 21 June sees Kumari Suraj present a series of essential Waacking and wellbeing workshops to bring positive vibes, inner peace, and a smile to your face. For a feel-good boost and immersion into the ballroom scene there is no better place to be this June!

This discussion offers an open, honest dialogue with 2SLGBTQIA+ dancers from both community and commercial entertainment sectors. The session will provide practical tools and insights to create safer, more inclusive environments.
Topics covered include embracing diverse identities with compassion, using inclusive language, de-gendering dance spaces, addressing behaviours, and building supportive networks that empower all dancers.

Waacking as a form of resistance
Join Kumari Suraj for an energetic community dance class exploring the vibrant LGBT vintage disco style that is Waacking —its history, expressive moves, and roots as a symbol of queer protest, activism, and resilience. It’s healthy escapism. Let’s dance, celebrate, and honour queer history together! Plus stick around for the Jam straight after!
