We’re delighted to be part of this year’s Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, as we present some amazing dance works as part of Dancing City.

This year’s dance take-over day, showcasing a host of amazing outdoor spaces across Stratford, will pop up in the Town Centre, Stratford Cross, East Bank and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. With stunning staging and a huge variety of dance styles, you can catch exceptional homegrown and international talent. Every performance is FREE and unticketed* – just show up.

Jungle Boy by Levan Peart

Jungle Boy is a vibrant, immersive dance performance that explores identity, connection, and mental health themes through powerful choreography and live saxophone. Set against the unique backdrop of the canal, this intimate piece invites audiences into a dynamic, sensory experience blending movement and music. With four dancers and live sound, Jungle Boy celebrates the journey of self-discovery, healing, and community in a contemporary urban setting. 

2.00pm and 4.15pm (17 Minutes)| Eastbank Waterfront, E20 2AQ

Audiences will be able to enjoy a screening of an accompanying Jungle Boy film following the performances. Screenings will take place in the UAL: London College of Fashion Auditorium at 2.25pm and 4.40pm (5 minutes walk from the Eastbank Waterfront).

When Jazz Meets Hip Hop By Jade Hackett and UEL Dance Collective 

When Jazz Meets Hip Hop explores the connection between Jazz music inspired by the Harlem Renaissance and hip-hop culture and how the two genres each represent the musical language of rebellion and give power to the voiceless.

Whispering Forest by The Yoruba Tales Collective

Ijapa the Tortoise and the Forest Spirits battle for supremacy, mirroring the human destruction of an ever shape-shifting natural environment. Emerging from nature’s powers of repair narrated by eco-critical Yoruba mythologies, this mixed reality experience engages magical characters danced through spectacular textiles.

Please note this immersive experience will involve using a VR headset. Tickets for this half hour experience can be booked for free HERE
