East London Youth Dance Company (ELYDC) supports the artists of the future; bringing together the best young dancers from all across east London aged 13-17.
In addition to training and rehearsal ELYDC members create new work with the Artist Team for performance at a range of high profile events. They have the opportunity to train with and learn from the best local, national and international artists working with East London Dance and our partners through masterclasses and projects and receive bespoke mentoring and advice and guidance about progression routes to training and employment, with access to employability seminars.
Since 2024 the company has been led by incredible Hip Hop choreographer and dancer Dominic Hamilton and meet for free weekly training sessions that encompass technique development, performance skills and choreography.
In 2024 & 2025 the company have showcased their skills at a range of exciting performance opportunities all across London. 2024 highlights include performing as part of Boroughs United at Hackney Empire; Fresh at The Place; and taking centre stage at the grand opening of Young V&A. In 2025 they have performed at Cody Docks; at Here East; for the GLA; for Black Pride on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park; as part of RE:DANCE – the UK’s biggest outdoor youth dance celebration – at the Scoop near Tower Bridge; and as part of the Royal Docks Originals Festival at The Factory.
