Screendance Mentoring Opportunity for Young Makers

Are you interested in dance and film? Are you creative and artistic? Want to make a screendance work but need some guidance? Then the ScreenShare Mentoring Scheme is for you!

East London Dance’s Future Innovators are delighted to programme a free screendance opportunity for young makers as part of Mesa Festival. Three spaces are available to young artists, aged 18 to 25, to receive mentoring from an established screendance artist to create their own screendance work, which will premiere at the festival.

The programme includes:

  • 5 hours 1:1 mentoring over a month from an established screendance artist
  • Support and guidance to create a 5-minute film to be screened on 24th October
  • Collaborating with professional audio describers to have your film described
  • Having your film live-screened to a captive audience via YouTube Live
  • Insight from the industry’s best into what it is like making screendance

Before applying, please carefully read our Info Sheet, which includes all relevant project dates and deadlines, to make sure you will be able to commit to the programme if your application is successful.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity please complete the application form.

  • The application deadline is 16th September 9am
  • Applicants will be informed as to whether they have been successful by end of day 19th September

This opportunity is programmed as part of Mesa Festival: a week-long, multi-arts festival that aims to engage young artists, elevate underrepresented voices and provide a seat at the table for those without one. It is produced by the Fi.ELD, a unique programme from East London Dance to develop the future innovators of dance, equipping them with skills and resources to make their ideas happen.
