East London Dance’s 30th anniversary celebrations conclude with the return of the Ideas Summit.
On Friday 29 March 2019 East London Dance will host a full day of curated talks, conversations, provocations and networking at Stratford Circus Arts Centre.
Back for its third edition the Ideas Summit offers a chance for you to plug into east London’s vibrant community of dance professionals; to meet your fellow dance artists, producers and industry peers in the flesh; and to network and make connections across all areas of the dance sector.

This year’s Summit will include a host of inspiring speakers, including keynote speakers Simon Mellor, Deputy Chief Executive, Arts & Culture, Arts Council England and Kymberlee Jay, Business Coach and creator of “Built for it Bootcamp’ as well as representatives from East London Dance, English National Ballet, Sadler’s Wells, Studio Wayne McGregor, Boy Blue Entertainment and Avant Garde Dance Company all giving updates about their ongoing work in east London.

Connect with our line-up of guest speakers and get tips and advice, as they host a series of round-table discussions revealing insights from across the sector on a range of practical topics including funding; building and sustaining your career and brand in the arts; exploring digital innovation and creative enterprise; as well as marketing and touring.

The Ideas Fund
You will also get to watch 15 shortlisted artists and producers pitch innovative ideas, Dragon’s Den style, to the Ideas Fund panel for up to £5,000 bursaries. With 3 minutes to pitch and 2 minutes to answer panel questions this is a dynamic and fast-paced element of the day guaranteed to leave you inspired and energised! If you’ve go an idea yourself, you can apply to pitch for the fund until 15 Feb here.
This full day of talks, seminars, networking opportunities and other activities is just £18 for independent artists or producers, £25 for everyone else and we’ll even throw in lunch.
