Dancing City
Part of Greenwich and Docklands International Festival
Saturday 7 September across Stratford and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
We’re delighted to be part of this year’s Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, as we present some amazing dance works as part of Dancing City.
This year’s dance take-over day, showcasing a host of amazing outdoor spaces across Stratford, will pop up in the Town Centre, Stratford Cross, East Bank and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. With stunning staging and a huge variety of dance styles, you can catch exceptional homegrown and international talent. Every performance is FREE and unticketed – just show up.
Join us for this celebration of dance as we present these brilliant artists:
Olu Alatise will lead her company Afroqueens in ‘Imole’ (Yoruba for ‘light’), a dance piece in response to depicting the element of fires, the subtlety, energetic force and power of fire and light.
1.15 pm + 4pm | Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, BBC Waterfront, E15 2DU (12 minutes)
Brandon Anderson will share ‘Disparity’, hip hop dance theatre blending breaking, waving and acro, that explores both our freedom to succeed in the face of personal limitations and environment, and where we escape to when looking for our dreams.
1pm, 2.15pm + 4.45pm | Stratford Town Centre, 54A Broadway, London E15 1NG (6 minutes)
For full details of all the dance performances taking place on the day visit GDIF. We can’t wait to see you there!
