East Summer School 2025 (Ages 14-17)

10am-4pm

This summer we’re ‘dropping the mic’ with a FREE dance and music youth-led hip hop project, with East London Dance and UD Music.

Throughout the week, young aspiring dancers and musicians have the opportunity to learn from each other, exchange ideas, and collectively produce captivating performances.

You can choose to focus on either dance or music, then both groups of young people will work closely with each other to create fresh music and choreography across the week.

This innovative collaboration between two powerhouse arts organisations will not only support the young participants to embrace their individuality but also aims to foster a strong sense of unity and collaboration. 

By combining the rhythmic beats and infectious sounds of hip hop music with the artistry and fluid movements of street dance, the project will create a dynamic and energising platform for self-expression and creativity, allowing  participants to discover new ways to showcase their talent and passion, whilst smashing societal barriers.

East Summer School has lots of activities available, but if you want to take part in our activity choose the option “15 – 17 year old” in question 13 of the sign up form (even if you are 14) and then choose “Create, Collaborate, Move (Dance and Music)” in question 14 of the form.

EAST Summer School is delivered by East Education, a cross-organisational effort between LLDC and our world-leading East Bank partners; BBC, UCL, UAL’s London College of Fashion, V&A and Sadler’s Wells. The programme also features collaborations from other incredible local partners.

Summer youth activity at the Talent House is supported by East London Community Fund and The Prudence Trust.
